Build on hamaward, the right way

We're opening an official OAuth API for third-party app developers. With a user's permission, approved apps will be able to manage that user's contacts. It will be the one and only supported way to integrate with hamaward.

What the API will offer

OAuth 2.0 sign-in

Users connect their account to your app themselves and can disconnect it at any time. Passwords never change hands.

Contact management

Manage the signed-in user's contacts from your logger, app or service, and nobody else's.

Strictly scoped access

Your app gets only the permissions the user approves, for that user's own account, and nothing more.

How approval will work

  1. Submit your application In a few weeks Tell us what your app does, who it is for and exactly why it needs access.
  2. We review it A real person checks every app before it can connect to anyone's account. We will say no if we are not satisfied.
  3. Get your credentials Only approved apps receive client details, and access can be revoked at any time if the rules are broken.

Quality over quantity

Only quality applications will be considered for integration with our services. That probably doesn't include the app you vibe coded in 30 minutes during your lunch break.

Nothing personal. Our users trust us with their data, and protecting their privacy comes before everything else. If you're building something great and you play by the rules, we can't wait to see it.

The rules

The official API is the only integration we permit. The following are not supported or permitted under any circumstances.

  1. No other APIs. Do not use any other API, endpoint or unofficial method to access hamaward.
  2. No scraping. Do not scrape, crawl or harvest data of any kind from this website or any associated systems, whether by bots, scripts or any other automated means.
  3. No form submissions. Do not have your app, script or bot submit any form on this website. That includes logging in, uploading data, submitting logs or anything of the kind.
  4. No use of our branding. Do not use the hamaward name, branding or logo in your app, website or marketing. We will not give permission for it under any circumstances.

Breaking any of these rules results in a permanent block, including your applications and any IP addresses associated with them. There are no warnings and no second chances.
